Configuration involves installing WCM on web servers and enabling support for WCM both in iMIS itself and in IIS on every server that you use for hosting iMIS sites.
Required tasks
You must perform these configuration tasks before you use WCM for production work. All three tasks are performed in iMIS itself.
1. Scheduling content authoring workflow updates
2. Granting security access to WCM features
3. Defining global WCM properties
You need to install WCM on one or more external web servers if you want to avoid using your iMIS application server to host public-facing sites. If you are creating only intranet sites for use inside your local network, you can use your production iMIS application server for this purpose. There is no need to install WCM on any servers in this case, because your iMIS application server already contains everything needed to host iMIS sites.
If you do install WCM on one or more web servers, you must also perform Defining publishing servers to connect iMIS to the publishing service on each web server.
When you install WCM on a 64-bit configuration, you must define the publishing server to use the required "Program Files (x86)" path. See Fields: publishing servers.
